“The Office”
The week of September 23 was a big learning week! I largely have the routine memorized at this point, I just am not very good at dancing it yet! So, this week we worked on a few areas where I can improve and help to keep me on track with the music.
One of the techniques Alexis used was called “The Office.” Yes, I originally thought she was referring to the TV show. And yes, when I found out she was not, I proceeded to include as many Michael Scott jokes as possible throughout the remainder of practice! “The Office” is basically a workout band that goes around the two of us and allows us to stretch apart and then fling back together. This is supposed to help me from going too far backward and as a result getting delayed during the song.
Below is a picture of us recreating “The Office”. Much like my dancing so far, I’m not a good photography subject…. This picture took three takes because apparently I wasn’t smiling in the first two. I have also received similar feedback about my dancing (not smiling), but that will have to be something we work on next week!
